Your natal chart is a picture of the sky from the place you were born, at the moment you arrived. It shows where the Sun, the Moon and the planets were along their path through the sky, and how the horizon was turned at that instant.
CalculationThose positions come from real astronomical data. The same date, time and place always give the same chart, and you can see every setting used to draw yours.
Three layers of a reading
Everything you read about a chart sits in one of three layers. Knowing which one you're looking at makes any reading clearer.
- What you shared: your date, time and place of birth, and how sure you are of the time.
- What the sky showed: for example, where the Moon was when you were born.
- What a tradition sees in it: the themes a school of astrology links to that placement.
The first two are facts you can check for yourself. The third is interpretation: a tradition's way of reading the sky, always named, so you know whose voice you are hearing.
How to use your chart
Think of your chart as a conversation starter. Each placement invites a question about how you live, what you need and where you want to grow.
